Our story

More than a class, a community

Brazil FitDance by Gio & Mow started with a handful of people in a room on Aungier Street who wanted to move the way they did back home.

It grew into a weekly meeting point for Brazilians and Dubliners alike. People come for the workout and stay for the group that waits for them afterwards to take the photo.

The classes are FitDance: choreography set to Brazilian funk, sertanejo, pagode and pop, taught count by count so a first timer can follow from the first song. We teach in English and Portuguese, and nobody is ever the only beginner in the room.

Outside the weekly timetable we perform and teach at weddings, hen parties, birthdays, Brazilian community events and corporate days around Ireland.

Gio

Founder

Gio is a Brazilian dance teacher and the person behind DanceWithGio.

For Gio, dance has always been about more than movement. It’s a way to connect with people, express herself, have fun, and create a space where everyone feels confident enough to let go.

Bringing Brazilian energy, music and culture into everything she does, Gio teaches FitDance and fitness classes, and brings dance to events and celebrations. Her classes are energetic, welcoming and, most importantly, fun.

You don’t need to be a professional dancer, have perfect coordination or know what you’re doing when you walk through the door. Gio believes dance should be accessible to everyone — all you need is willingness to move.

Alongside her passion for dance, Gio has built a career in the corporate world. She speaks Portuguese, Italian and English, has studied in Italy and Ireland, and graduated from Bocconi University and University College Dublin. Passionate about both the business world and the arts, Gio has always been drawn to the space where the two meet. That combination of creativity, business and culture is what ultimately led her to build her own dance project — DanceWithGio&Co, now merged into Brazil FitDance — and turn a personal passion into a growing and successful community.

For Gio, dance isn’t about perfection. It’s about feeling good, building confidence, meeting people and leaving the room fully re-energised.

Born in Bahia, Brazil, Morgana Abreu is a psychologist, holds a Dance degree from UFBA, is certified in Classical Ballet by the Royal Academy of Dance, and has been a FitDance instructor since 2017.

Her passion for dance began in childhood, and she started teaching ballet at just 13 years old.

In Dublin, she combined dance and psychology to create a welcoming space for movement, self-expression, and connection.

What began three years ago as a single weekly class has grown into a vibrant community with regular classes and events.

Her mission goes beyond dance: to inspire confidence, transform lives, and create a community where everyone feels welcome and belongs.
